Hi all

Can someone help a helpless, dumb woman!  I am looking into getting a Zune Pass from Zune things for my son, however, despite being very savvy with the computer I am not completely sure I understand how it works.  Do you actually get unlimited music to keep (ie download and save) with the Zune Pass and what is meant by "streaming" music, I get the feeling this would be music that you can listen to but can't keep, am I right? I looked at a Napster card today and that allows you to stream as much as you want but to only download 15 songs for the £15 price tag, is the Zune Pass the same?

Hi Jaqui,

Thanks for your question.  The way the Zune Pass works is that you basically rent music.  So you have access to all the music in the Zune marketplace that you can play on your PC or send to your Zune to play on your Zune.  You don't own that music and once your Zune pass expires you can no longer play the music.  If you maintain the subscription then you maintain access to the music.

In addition to this the Zune pass lets you download and keep 10 tracks per month.  You still have access to these 10 tracks you choose even if you let your subscription expire.

Before getting the Zune Pass in the UK you should make sure your son can access the marketplace.  There are some blocks in place that make this a little tricky, but they are easily passed.  There are details in other posts here.
